Default Cub Cadet 126 For Sale

Cub 126. Engine was replaced professionally in the mid-90s and Hobbs meter installed, asking $500 o.b.o. Has 190-ish actual hours on new engine. Have documentation of this as well as owners manual. Starts right up and runs beautifully. Brand new clutch, carb and air filter, oil changed. Needs brakes adjusted, but other than that, pretty much ready to work. Comes with mower deck and lift frame. I am told these 126's are rare and I am open to offers, so please be fair when making offers.

If you have anything specific you would like to see a photo of, let me know and I will add it here. Thanks!

It would have been to a collector, with a production run of 5247 units, had the frame not been cut to allow an installation of a larger engine in an attempt to turn it into a 147 or whatever.

That frame does not look like it was cut anywhere, it looks the same as my 126.

The frame wasn't cut, its all there in original shape. If you have a specific place you think was cut I can take a picture of that location, but I have been all over this thing and the frame seems whole. If you know anyone looking for one please feel free to direct them this way! I would prefer to see it go to someone who will restore it and give it the care it deserves.

BUMP: Lowering my price to $700 or best offer, need to move a couple things out and focus my money on fewer projects!

This will be in upstate NY in Plattsburgh this week at my family's July yard sale if anyone is in that region and interested. Dropping price to $500. If it doesn't sell there its coming back to Virginia and I am either willing to palletize/crate and ship to you (I recommend fastenall blue lane) or can deliver within 100 miles for no extra charge. Let me know if you are interested!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
