16.5 HP Briggs
So I have a POS Yardmachine that I use for my daily driver. Started up fine this morning, and pulled it into the garage to air up a tire. Wouldn't start again, pulled the plug and it was soaked. Cranked it over to clear out the cylinder, and blew about 4 oz of gas out. Now the carb is over-flowing with gas everywhere. Ideas?

Needle and seat in the carb are toast...time for a carb kit. Either that or you got some dirt in there or the float developed a hole and is full of gas. Either way, figure out what happened to the carb and change the oil. Let it drain/air out for a long time (at least a day) before putting the drain plug back in and refilling.

Carb rebuild is in order then. I'll make sure to drain the oil too. Thanks for the help Matt.

Got the carb off and the float seems to be fine. Already ordered a carb kit so it's getting a full rebuild either way. Pulled the oil drain plug and probably had 1/2 a gallon of gas come out. Could this have damaged the engine? Besides letting it air out for a few days, anything else I should do?
