109 redo
hey guys. i finally got the hydro tranny de-gunked and it's resting comfortably in a fluid bath, so as not to rust. the differential was fun and easier to dismantel than i thought. the goo was in the bearings which hardly spun at all. i'll be replacing all the gaskets, and a few other parts that didn't meet my standards. i really would like to run a snowblower this winter, but times are tough and i need to get this running first. next up is the k241. lots of used parts out there, but still no work so i must sit on my thumbs. i can't even just sit on the tractor. i'm thinking about new/used front tires. it has nanco 16x6.5-8's on there now. i like the tire size just not the tread. goodyear terra 23x10.5-12 on the rear which is plenty beefy for what i plan on using this for. what would be an all season tread for the fronts? there's too much candy in the store nowadays. winter is going to take forever at this rate.

hang in there, i feel the same way, not nearly enough $$ on hand to get the parts i need and the many i want! when i replace tires i'm going with terra/ags as i like the way the look and they serve a good purpose too. put it this way, if i hit powerball i'm buying every cub and cub part i see

You definitely are not in the boat by yourself. I can only do a thing or two a month including purchases. But I have time on my hands. Plenty of it. So I do know it will get done one day.

Yep,
Feeling the same pain, Wife says everything cost twice as much! I will have to dial back a little this time of year. Chain saw took a major dump, and I have a $600 maple project in the works. Well I am still working so we just keep pounding away at it. Hopefully 150 weeks and I can spend more time at home playing with hobbies like the Cubs. Regards, Chris

thanks guys. sometimes the fever runs so rampant, that you lose perspective on the big picture. too many times i have been accused of hyperfocus, all on my cubs. i say, what's wrong with that.
it seems as though when i read on this site all the work going on, tractors being bought and sold, farming being done, i tell myself, i should be doing that. keep up the fine work your all doing. i'll get this cub back together some day. on a side note, thanks to my fellow veterans. she will stand proud because of us.
