Default Hello!! Tire Question

Hello, I am new to the forum and I love looking over the threads. I am restoring a 100 and need tires all the way around. Do you guys get your tires local or is there a web site that sells the correct tire for the tractor. I would love to get ag tires for the back and ribbed for the front.

Thanks!

I buy rear tires locally. I have a local tire store that I've been buying tires off for the last 30 years. They sell auto, small truck, over the road truck and farm tires.

I buy most of my front rib tires from Miller Tire
http://www.millertire.com/
They have a good price and they go to different shows. They do ship and sell tires on e-bay. I have made a road trip to their store. It's a 125 mile round trip for me.
Here is Miller Tire's front rib tire looks like

Another style front rib tire:

Both tires-side by side:

As far as the back ag tires go I suggest the Titan tru-power. I think Carlise bought the molds so now they are Carlise Tru-Power. I have two sets of these and like them alot. I have about 4-5 sets of the tri-ribs and I think that those are the best for the front. I don't think I have a pair of Miller's but the look like they might be better.
Here is a pic of mine.

Question, do the ag tires tear up turf when mowing? I have miss-matched rears on the 129 and the 149's are too small. I sure like the looks of the ag tires so if they aren't too hard on turf, that is the way I'm going to go. No plans on plowing, but I don't have a plow-----yet!

As long as you don't drive around your yard during the spring-thaw mushy-stage, no. You might not even have that where you are.

Thanks for the quick reply's. I figured the AGs would spin less, which in turn would do less damage. Now I just have to get them up to snuff for next spring. You are right Matt, most of the rotten ground around here happens in Jan. and Feb. when the ground is freezin at night and thawing out in the day. By mow time it is usually firmed up.

I am still looking for a turf tire for one of my Originals.
Does anyone know of a tire that fits the narrow rims and is more like a truf than the lug tires???
I need them for front and rear.
If anyone has photos? Please post them.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
