Default finally joined....

been doing alot of reading on here for my latest project and got some ideas and hints from this site, figured i would finally join and show off my creation......

name is corey and i am from SEPA, diesel mechanic by trade. i have a 680 hydro that we bought for 200 bucks and ran ok. well after a while the kohler was using about 1 qt an hr, so i tore it down. piston was already oversized to 30 over, and after thinking about it, i didnt want the kohler anymore. so the search started. took about a year to find a motor and all the parts to frankenstein the tractor together, but now that it runs and drives i love it. stll need to finish up a few small things and then then do the body work on it, but it is alive now....

680 hydro, d950 kubota engine, honda civic radiator, ford one wire alternator, 2 gallon moon tank, and lots of time and thinking.

next time i have it outa the shop i will try and get better pics.

no progress pics, didnt have a cam then. when i tear it down to paint it i will take some pics on the mods i had to do to get the motor in there. but i am still using the stock engine plate still rubber mounted, stock "rag joint" on the driveshaft but only at the rear, in the one pic u can see the ujoint up at the motor. i want to clean up the motor mounts a little and make a nicer exhaust. still need to figure out the grill and headlights. dont wana put the factory peice back in for the headlights. was thinking of making a custom grill and mounting some old teardrop style lights on the outside of the grill surround. also wana make some braces for the grill surround since the radiator is mounted to it.

and just incase some of u was wundering about the hood scoop, i needed it to clear the upper rad hose. it is off a "cough" bowlens "cough" and worked great.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
