I have a shot to get a 123 and a 124 on the cheap. The 123 is missing the hood and front grill assembly, while the 124 is mostly complete minus engine. Can i bolt on the parts from the 124 to the 123? .I notice the "angle" of the grill is slightly different between the two,but am i correct in assuming that most all body panels are interchangeable so long as they are both narrow frames? Thanks in advance.

Grill casting from the 124 will bolt to the frame of the 123 but I think you will encounter a problem with the hood length at the dash/steering wheel.124 has the fiberglass dash w/raised spoke steering wheel and the 123 has the steel dash w/flat steering wheel.Personally I have never made this conversion I just know the difference in the parts,so you may have to swap the steering wheels. If you live near me I'd give you the correct iron/sheet metal less grille/screen and light panel!

It's very likely the hood will be either way too long or too short. Even though they are both NF tractors, they are quite different, and a lot of stuff is not going to interchange.

I would just ge the grill and hood from a different tractor. I'm sure you could get em cheap if you have a guy that parts tractors locally. Too bad you wernt in minnesota. I'd just give ya them. I've got a parted out 122. Then you could look for a motor down the road for the 124

Take the motor out of the 123 and put it in the 124, problem solved. Unless you wanted the hydro, I personally like the look of the white dash on the 124 over the 123.

If the price is right, then you can grab them and it sounds like several fellows on here are willing to give you some needed items, so just pm them and cover shipping of the parts........and maybe shoot them a few $$ for Christmas. Also, our sponsors might have any other parts that you might need!! I kind of like the 123 over the 124......just like the fact that there is more metal involved.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
