Finally put a blower on the 149 and love it. Now the problem seems to be the fact that it don't come off the ground. I thought it was rod length but played with it some and I believe it don't have the power to lift it. Wondering if anyone has had the same problem and can pinpoint the problem. Hate to play the guess and replace game, at least looking for a good place to start. It is full of fluid, and the hydro works good, so I am hoping not the pump. Any help is appreciated.

Check the spirol pins on the rockshaft...if they are sheared, it's not going to lift it. Take the tunnel cover off and see if the cylinder moves but the rockshaft doesn't when you actuate the valve.

on my 129, I had to put a "pin/plate piece" in place on the rock shaft to get my plow to lift. I'll try to take a picture a post it. With out the pin in place the cylinder won't lift the attachment. It a small piece only about 2 inches long.

I'll tear the cover off this afternoon and check it out. Is the peice Parker is talking about the one that is also used for down pressure?

Possibly, but that is not needed to lift the snowthrower.

Finally got a chance this morning to look into it a little more and Matt you are right. It was a broken spiral pin. Works great now. Thanks for the heads up, saved me some time head scratchin.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
