Any one who has ever run a single stage snow blower/thrower knows the problem of the shoot pluging up part of the problem can be solved by technique (speed ,rpm) but you cant control what condition the snow is in so what I would like to know is what have you done to prevent pluging or to clean the shoot out easily

Do you have the inside of it coated with slip plate? Mine only clogs when we get one of those 10"-wet-cement snows.

Hello Matt I saw were you had replyed to another post were you said that worked well for you I'm sure before its all over thats what I will do also thats a great idea I'll have to make a trip to the local farm store and see what they have. Is there any special prep before application? How long does it take to dry?

It probably says on the can how long it takes to dry. I can't remember. It should be applied over paint for best adhesion, I think, but mine is over rust and has lasted a few years that way. Get the brush-on stuff instead of the spray can.

Pam cooking spray will work if you have trouble. I won't say that it will work in every type of snow but will definitely help. Just spray to on and go to work you might have to respray it a couple of times but it's better than plugging. As far as Slip Plate spray it on and wait 15 min and it will be dry to the touch. Use a hair dryer to help with the drying rate if you have to do it in the cold.

Looking at the Slip Plate website...which one to get? #1?? I'm thinking of using a small roller to apply it.

graphite paint works the best like they said. you could also use a high gloss rustoleum paint if you cant find the graphite paint. as far as rpms and speed. wide open throttle and really slow is about all you do in that wet stuff. also if your cub is out in the cold and you are painting it make sure to get some heat on that paint for it to dry right. small space heater and a blanket works good.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
