Hello, is it ok to run chains on Tru Powers? My 23x10.5x12 were spinning all around before and got stuck !!! haha i guess my extra weight (I am 265lbs) is just not enough. The 127 did work pretty well though.

JaysNJcub127...
Try adding some more weight to your 127... How much snow do you have on the ground? I was going out tonight but it seems fruitless. |

If there is anything slick between the tire and the ground, you're not going anywhere without chains period! I don't care how much you weight it down.
Ag's and chains may be alright, but turfs and chains is the way to go. 2 link chains won't beat you to death either.

Jason,
I run 2 link with turfs on the 125 with 150lbs. of weight.Same setup I use when pulling a plow in the spring. The two link spacing allows for a smoother ride. But if you don't want to scratch up your driveway, they have rubber chains you put on.Just like the rubber wheels they use on the elevated trains in Chicago to make them quieter...If you believe that,There is a bridge in Brooklyn I could sell you... |

I have 4 link V bars on my 1450 with 70# per wheel + my 214#. I do a lot of spinning pushing the 54" blade. I'm changing out the 54 for a 42 next storm.

I doubt you have anywhere near enough weight. 300 lbs. seems to be the magic number for mine.

i am running a 123 with turf tires-8.5'' wide- 4 link chains, i am 150lbs with an extra 120 on the back. 42'' thrower and i really do not have any trouble going through a foot or two of snow. sometimes if i am faced down hill with the thrower off the ground and tryin to back up i spin a little so i am sure a little more weight would solve this problem. of course i would rather have ag tires with two link chains and about 50 to 70lbs more weight on the back.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
