Default What is my 2082 worth?

Hello everyone. I have a 2082 Super Garden tractor with a little over 750 hours. I repowerred it with a new Kohler Command 25 hp. V-Twin I bought through CaseIH parts about 4 years ago. The engine has about 100 hours on it and has only blown snow the last 2 years. The new engine sits at the same height as the old one so the drive shaft and front pto are in the same location as with the old engine. I replaced the drive shaft 5 years ago. It has front and back hydraulic outlets that I added after I got it. The "chinsy" plastic hydraulic levers were replaced with nice chrome levers that it should have had from new. I have lugged tires all the way around. It also has a Sims "hard" cab I bought new. It comes with a 45" two stage snowblower and a 60" mower deck. I totally rebuilt the under carriage for the mower replacing the pivot pins with greaseable shoulder bolts. I also made a split block or "clamp block" that goes around the rock shaft for the pivot arm to slide on. All the guage wheels on the mower are greaseable. I used to be a tool and die machinist so these modifications are not a coble job. The snow blower works great! Quite an improvement over my 782 and the QA-42. I keep the 2082 in a heated garage so it is relatively warm when I start it.

I recently purchased a bigger snow blown' machine with a heated cab. Other wise I wouldn't be selling this. Any interest or information would be greatly appreciated. We are farmers and farm with good old International tractors. My dad has a 1000 he bought new in 1976 and I have a 782 as well. I will provide pictures at request. Thank you. timzim1000@yahoo.com

Your 2082 sounds very nice! Some pics would be great but as you have it now you'll just have to ship it to me in NC for free on your dime of course. :biggrin2.gif:

Supers are hard to price. They seem to be getting a lot of attention these days. I've seen them sell from a few hundred to $3k for a really nice example. It all depends on the tractor and the buyer.

Whats it worth?
You have to ask your self what you would be lilling to pay for the tractor.
Maybe that what it is worth.
Good luck.

Sorry about the delay for pictures. I have a few now. I don't have any of the mower and undercarriage. The door of the shed is "heaved" shut by the frost. I will get some when I can. This tractor came with a 50C deck which I swapped for the 60C I have now. The 60C came off an earlier series SGT so it is white. If you look closely at the second to the last picture(lower right side close-up view), I built a cab support for for both sides of the tractor. These cabs seem to be quite "wiggly" without the support. Now the cab is quite solid. The cab doors come off easily for summer use. Also only 2 bolts hold the front door. I take that off for summer use.

timzim1000, that looks like a great set up.. The problem is, that you can get one guy to say it's worth $2,000...and another to say it's not worth $500 because of some reason. That's the problem with "what's it worth" threads.

So I'll be one of those guys to say 2-$2,500..You can always haggle, but that is very clean and pretty low hours.. As squatch said, SGT's seem to be coming into the light more and more..

Sharp 2082, you shouldn't have any problems selling it.

I will say that I would pay in the 2000-2500 ballpark. I am not a big fan of the plastic body though.

If that same set up was in a 2072 then I would pay close to 2500-3000 range, as I am more partial to the steel body.

It all depends how bad you need to move it. If you don't mind sitting on it for awhile then ask 3000 and settle for less. If you want to move it fast list it for 2250 and it should be gone fairly quick.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
