Default West Coast Availability

I picked up a nice little 104 a couple of months ago but I'm just not seeing much in the way of implements available in my area (SW Washington State)

I keep a close eye on CL and EPay but most seem to be located starting in the Mid West and points East. The closest Cub dealership is about 50 mi away and when I rang them my asking about older model parts and such was met with a long pause and . . ."umm yeah, we don't deal too much with the older stuff."

I've checked with a couple of the folks who have pretty extensive parts yards for GTs (Seattle and Salem) and while they have a few Cubs, there just doesn't seem to be much in the way of implements.

Being a metal worker, I plan on fabbing up a lot of what I need but seeing 150.00 front blades and blowers for $200.00 or less sure makes a guy look at what it costs for time and materials to reinvent the wheel.

Being so new to all of this I'm not sure if I'm just not looking in the right places or is there a shortage of this kind of stuff on the Left Coast?

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

I'm in the same boat as you...implements & attachments are scarcer than hen's teeth here in North Central Washington!

In the past I was looking for and found MANY snowblades for my 149 but they were in some countries called the "Mid West" & "East Coast" :biggrin2.gif: and most have the fatal "Local Pick up Only" tag on them.

So, I came across a blade for a newer mtd style cub cadet and have cobbled up it's mounting bracket to somewhat fit my 149, but it doesn't work very well so I'm going to buy the metal and fab up a original style snowblade subframe for it.

I hear ya Ray!

This week a 100 came up on CL - real rough shape but it had a blade and what looked like fair to nice condition Ag's - The price was 50 bucks so I called right away ( I saw the ad 4hrs after it was posted) - The guy said: " A fella just loaded it up 30 minutes ago - He buys up old tractors and parts them out".

I'll probably being seeing that blade and those Ag's up on CL soon for a bunch of money.

Oh well, to the swift go the spoils . . . .

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
