82 Series Deck Lift Lockout

Hey everyone. I'm not familiar with the 82 series machines, but I understand that you can "lock" your deck in the up position & still able to use your rear lift (front too??) with the deck in the up/stowed postion. How does this system work? It sounds awfully handy and I'm looking it as an option to fab up for my NF 100 to use with the NF Hyd. lift add-on option that I have all ready.

Nope...that is not what that means. It's float lockout, and it prevents the rockshaft from floating so you can apply down pressure to implements.

Ok, then maybe I misunderstood. I originally got the idea from Aaron's site when I was looking at his 3-point systems. He claims you can leave your deck on the tractor, in the up/stowed position, and still be able to use your rear lift. I'm curious how this is possible so I could possibly replicate it. Not the entire rear lift system on the rear of the tractor, just the bits that would be in the belly of the tractor.

I see where he says that, but the OEM hitch doesn't do that, and I don't see how he would have changed anything to allow that to be possible.

The mower deck is just going to be in the way when you are using rear-mounted attachments, anyways. Just remove the deck.

Would it work by adjusted the lift knob on the side of the frame to prevent the deck from lower and allowing the rear lift bar to move up and down?

The lift adjustment knob limits the rockshaft movement in such that you set the deck height when mowing or attachment height when plowing or whatever, so no it won't work. As Matt said you will have to remove the deck to use attachments and lift and lower them.
