WF QA42 parts swap to a NF QA42...
As a few might remember, I need sprockets,chain, and bearings for the QA42 from my 122.
Tomorrow I'm picking up two QA's off a 128 for a real good price. I assume I can swap the auger, drive sprocket and chain, right?

No, I forget how about that section. But, I answered my own question....I'll just put the working QA42A on....but, I need to see a photo of the brackets that are needed to fit install it on a NF.
I'm just trying to get a jump on it before picking it up.

Thanks Bill. I was looking at the manual, and it says an adapter package is needed. I now see the difference in the mountings.
The guy I'm buying these two throwers from says he's got a box full of extra parts, and two gearbox mounts complete. I'll have to see tomorrow.....whatever there is, I can't go wrong. Thanks.

Ya know Wild Bill, I keep looking at the manuals for the qa42a, and the qa42....and i see the difference in the mountings.
And, the qa42a manual has a photo of what appears to be a 1x4/1x5 with it mounted to it. Does anyone know if there is a difference in frame width (outer dimension) of a wf to a NF where the mule fits? Because it appears to be the same, the only difference being how far in the mule fits.....and the bolts are in different places. My 122, came with a qa, and it fits on my 124 also. I haven't picked up everything I'g getting yet...going tomorrow morning, s it's difficult to imagine how it will all fit, as 've never seen a wf. Also, I can not see any kind if adjustment in the QA42a mount pictures. Does anyone have a photc of a qaxa on a nf, so I can see the mounting? I guess I will know tomorrow...but the anticipation is killing me.

WF are 2 inches wider then a NF. I've never seen one bolted on in person before so going to pass on trying to answer that question.

I have a QA42A on my 127. See pics in my post below. The brackets that go on the outside of the frame have bolt holes for the narrow frame and the wide frame. You just take the bolts out, slide the brackets inward, then put the bolts back in. Then it goes on just like a regular QA. I prefer the "A" blowers better. The lift is better since it articulates, instead of just pivoting. Also, belt tension is much easier to get right since you twist a knob.

Thanks guys. I picked up 2 QA-A's sunday. A 42", and a 36"....and a box full of good parts. Both were complete with mules and gear boxes and shafts. I even got an extra box, several good drive gears, and an extra shaft.
I knew we were getting snow so I just put the best of all the throwers and parts together. My thrower housing was best...just a quick sand and paint, used a "A" chute, and took the best auger, and the 36" even had new auger bearings so I just swapped and assembled. Anyone need a 36" or 42" thrower? I'm going to sandblast, prime/paint and asemble the extra's with all new bearings and sell them...but I don't think I'll get to it before spring.
