Busy Morning
For some reason I had the "Cub Bug" this morning when I got out of bed. I figured that I'd work on the 124 a little bit. I installed a 3 pt hitch and a spring assist, swapped out some wheels, flushed it out and put fresh Hy-Tran oil in it and then loaded it on the trailer and took it to the car wash. There was 40 years of grime built up on the top of the transmission and frame and all the hard to reach spots,.... but not any more! I'm not going to worry about painting it up to look pretty. It's just going to be a great little worker!

I put some new Deestone tires on the back of 124 today. :biggrin2.gif:
This little tractor has really been a joy to have around. When I first got it, I told my wife that I could fix it up a bit and make a couple bucks on it, but now........well you guys know how it is!! It has found a home. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
