photo[3].jpg I have this blade purchased if I want it. The seller states that it is an IH rear blade, but looks different than the older ones I have seen. He wants $200 for it, does this sound out of line? Thanks for you input, Jeff. |

Yeah, I did not think it was an IH blade either...maybe a newer CCC or MTD version? I don't know, it looks to be in very good shape, seller said it is, photos look good, I am mulling it over, would be nice to have a rear blade!

I'd get it, even if it isn't IH. It will do, what you need it to do. I want a rear blade, as well.

Just got looking at home depot web site, they have a brinly rear blade for $189, as well as a box scraper for the same price. I think there was also an agrifab box scraper for $199. I don't know how long it last, but if you buy $249 worth on line it is shipped to your door for free. Also, they had some box weights I think they were 43 lbs for around $60...I don't know how good the newer implements are constructed, but the prices seemed reasonable.

I have a brinly rear blade and as flimsy as they seem they actually do a really nice job. Then you can spin them around backwards and use them as a leveling drag on soft stuff so it doesn't dig in. I love mine

I don't know what theck that blade is, but I think I would jump on it. It has to be a very rare attachment. Just think of the bragging rights.

That blade is much heavier than the brinly. It also looks like it has the sleeve hitch with it which will offset the price some, I'd grab it.

I would have no problems owning that blade. Looks very heavy duty and well built. grab it, lower price or not. The newer stuff not nearly as well built will run you that much.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
