Default pic's 109 with 14hp kohler

Ok, here are a couple pics of my 109 with the 14hp kohler. Hope you can see why they cut the frame to get this engine in. Jeff

Don't be surprised if the frame folds up in that location. That side of the frame is left with no structural support at all. I guess I would have cut the piece sticking off the flywheel shroud seeing how it is still using a starter generator to start it. Things that make you go hmmmmmmmmmm.

Thanks for the replies. I'm worried about the frame folding also. I want to find a cub cadet 10hp to put back on it and fix the frame back. Don't think i need the 14hp on there. Thanks again for the replies. Jeff.

I have no clue why they didn't do that as well.

Good eye on the oil drain. I saw that when I went to look at it last fall.

The owner before Kelly got it made the cuts and engine swap.

That would be good, If it's not too expensive. I think I'm going to try and sell this 14hp. Like I said I don't think I need it. Thanks, Jeff.

Probably a good idea Jeff as it is you will not be able to install the under carriage for the mower deck as the drain pipe is sticking right in front of the Frankenstein bolt.

I need a 14 for a 149, has an older engine, can't read tag so not sure what it is right now. I do know it's not the "right" engine and it has a 26 carb on it. Came out of one with the gas tank mounted on the engine. Will do a little digging after I get all the bugs worked out of the 109. Might want to trade it for a 14, if I can find one. Good luck on your hunt, the 10 in the 109 seems to do a good job with a 38" deck, but I haven't seen any thick grass yet. The bermuda in the back yard will tell the tale this summer.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
