Too much fuel and you will wash your cylinder down and not have enough lube. Run it like that for long and it will lead to bad compression and eventually you have a big boat anchor. Ask your self this...If they could of done it from the factory why didn't they? Lean is safe for a diesel. Can there be more power made...yes! But there is a fine line where things run great and when they no longer run at all. Like the old saying...You got to pay to play. I for one would leave it stock and enjoy it for many more years than try to impress the neighbors with smoke and need to spend money on it later. Good Luck

My buddies got a 108 with a 3cyl yanmar in it. The injection pump is turned all the way up and it has a delay in throttle response cause it floods out then just rolls coal. I think its neat but ive been around diesels all my life and i can stand in the smoke and it not bother me. Hopefully i dont get lung cancer one day.

thats odd....on the D600 we have in our 102 pulling tractor that screw located on the side is located on the other side of the pump....i wonder if they made different pumps for these engines. either way, we are going to turn our pump up and make it roll coal, even if it blows.

Must be nice to have money to blow. It's yours so go do what you want with it.

honestly if it were mine i would have left it in the $350 Kubota lawn mower it came in, fixed it up and sold it for a nice profit of around $1500...but its not mine, not my money. and since there is no convincing him otherwise, we all get to watch it pull and watch it explode

The black one is just a bleeder screw. The red one is a "buffer" screw. It doesn't turn the fuel up. It controls governor "surge". Please, don't mess with these pumps. The cam box pumps are completely different from the big tractors pumps that can be removed as a unit. The only external adjustment that can be made on these pumps is: Low idle, high idle, and governor surge. The rest is internal, and really, cannot be adjusted without a pump test bench. If you want to do something like that, send it to a pump shop and ask for a 10-15% Increase. But, honestly, I doubt they would want to mess with it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
