I just bought a thrower from mrcubcadet and it has teflon coating sprayed on the chute and auger. I haven't had a snow yet to test it out, so I really don't know how well it works.

I think that s what was on my H42 that I just got this year, kind of a graphite gray color? Like on a plow it seems to wear off in high rub areas like the edges of the auger but I haven't had any sticking issues. Course it's been in the low 20's here since it started snowing so sure that has something to do with it. Probably wont' be a problem today as it's about 7 out there right now!
But I'm curious too? Vic |

A well painted housing and chute goes a long way and probably lasts longer than any teflon type coating, I use implement paint that is available at tractor supply.

ill add my .02 and also recommend graphite paint. i use the ez-slide from farm and fleet but I'm sure any will work good. thing i like about it is $12.00 per quart and i can brush on a couple coats and throw the brush out. i imagine the more coats you apply the longer it will take to wear through but haven't used long enough to know that for sure. cheap and effective.

Thanks guys for all the replies. I just bought a product made by PB Blaster called dry lube. It claims to be a long lasting, waterproof, lubricant that can be used on almost any surface. I'm going to give it a try and see if it's any good. It comes in a spray. I got it at home depot.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
