Thanks for all the input and surprising amount of interest! I'm off to take a quick shower, then hitting the road. With any luck, I'll be back in 3ish hours with a couple new toys.

Oh, and red56turbo: if i get pulled over, I'll be sure to buy a lottery ticket and split the winnings with you!

Well gentleman, I have returned, safe and sound (and without a lottery ticket, to boot ). Here's a couple pics of the trip, I'll be making another thread later on the 1864 and my plans for it. I met up with fellow member J Ellif and we made our trade. Here's my 1811 I said goodbye to today. I also snapped a pic of the 147 shell I picked up. He got it, took what he needed from it (engine, lights, electric lift) and was going to scrap the rest, but I said I'll take it. I have absolutely zero idea what I'm going to do with it, but I'm sure I'll figure something out.

I got a pic of J Ellif loading the 1864, and another of the final load I took home with me. I also got the hood, but you can't see it in the pics I took. I also snapped a pic of a couple of his machines he has.

Hope you guys enjoyed this all as much as I did! Thanks again for all the advice, and keep an eye out; this evening when I get done tinkering, I'll be making a thread about a something that Jon had that came from an IH factory. They apparently used "these" around the factory. Take care, guys!

Ryan,
Congrats on not buying a lotto ticket.

He lives down by Woodhull? I've seen alot of cub stuff on Craigslist from Woodhull. Lots of nice stuff, too. You were maybe an hour or so away from me. Nice 1864, BTW!

Thanks! And yeah, he actually lives smack dab in town. So if I was about an hour away from you, what part of Iowa are you from, south of Muscatine at least, I assume

Just north of the Quad Cities. Since you're in Sterling, I'm just down highway 30. I can see it from my house. Just 20 minutes west of Clinton..........A nice, quaint little town named DeWitt.................

You need more trailer! This is addicting and you need to be able to haul more than one.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
