I did start n run it today, looks like bolts are broken and mismatched in the head for the exhaust manifold. The deck looks ok without pulling the covers, but it's missing a front caster wheel. I did engage it for a few seconds before it stalled.

The carb is leaking everywhere, and only runs on full choke. the starter only works by bridging the silonoid, exhaust is rough.

I'm not sure how he drove it yesterday, but today I was not able to get it to move under it's own power, the deck don't go up or down, power steering is not working. The hydro fluid was not showing at all on the dip stick, I put all I had into it ( a half quart) and it still would not move.

He had vise grips on The mule drive to keep it engaged. The plow is altered with some ugly welds but looks usable.

Glad you snagged her!

Wow! It's amazing what people do to equipment. That poor, old 2182. Sam's right. If you do decide to part it, you should do good making back what ya spent and more. Keeper or parter?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
