GPM and PSI output
I am wondering what kind of GPM and PSI the 782 ported hydro can produce? I believe that I was told that they are set at 550psi, but that they can be turned up to 1000psi. I have been trying to find the answer, but cannot. I am thinking one of these are in my future on the 882

The psi on the 82 series is 800-900 psi. The 123-1650 400-550

You would need a separate pump, like Matt said. Also you would put more wear on your tractor than is necessary. It just does not take that much horsepower to split wood.

Just curious what is the gpm on the 82? And what about my 1872 psi/gpm?

Although the pressure is adjustable, the output of the charge pump is low. Just look @ how slowly the deck raises/lowers and figure how much slower a larger cyl will operate.
yea it will work and split wood but I think you could have lunch before it would. cycle

There's 3 different charge pump displacements (.19, .3, or .33 in3/rev) given in the Sundstrand service manual, but I think it's the smallest one, so the flowrate would be about 3GPM at 3600 RPM, I think. That would be true for any of the ported hydros used in a CC GT...they are all essentially the same.
Regardless, you need a dedicated 5+GPM pump to run anything but a small auxiliary cylinder. The charge pump is only for intermittent use actuating cylinders and stuff. You'd probably ruin a hydro pump by running a loader or logsplitter off of it.

Kind of what I figured. I like the thought of not having a different engine for everything I want to do (generator, log splitter, ect) Especially for as often as I need them which is the same reasoning behind having attachments for the tractors in the first place. I may buy one and then just run a pump off the pto. I would really like to find a log splitter with a blown engine, or at least find the I beam and what not.
